๐ŸŒป Face the Sunshine ๐ŸŒž

/ I just need some time in a beautiful place to clear my head /

ย  ย  ยฉ A quality day consisted of sunflowers, Ed Sheeran, country roads, ice cream, and green tea. I am so blessed to have a day that helped me see the beauty in life through such memorable occurrences. As I am growing older, I acknowledge the heaviness placed upon an individual. There is so much pressure to fulfill multiple positions in life. I became so focused on success that I forgot the importance of taking the time to absorbing the surroundings in life that lead one to areas of growth. Seeing the sunflowers provided me with such a reality check. They encompass so much symbolism in relation to positivity and joy that it is impossible to feel upset when surrounded by such beauty. They always face the sun even on cloudy days. I yearn to have this mentality as I strengthen my connection with God; a relationship where I am invested in His purpose for my life and live free of worry or fear. They keep their face to the sunshine avoiding the negative aspects of life because they acknowledge the bright future they have.

โ€œThe sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.โ€ – Romans 8:18

Their roots dig deep, and they stay close to their foundation; the foundation that Jesus Christ has placed upon them. The truth is they too were created by God and were given a purpose. Happiness. Love. The prospect of bringing light into a too dim world. These abilities allow one to strengthen others and bring out the best in their surroundings. God praises those who find positivity in all aspects of life. It may not always be easy when certain areas of your life bring sorrow, but just like a sunflower, one can see the future as bright and rewarding. One can shine this mindset upon others to brighten societies perspective on life. The following quote sums this up perfectly.

โ€œJust like people, the Sunflower needs the dirt to keep grounded and stable so it can reach for the sun and lightness.โ€

Jesus is the sunshine, and we are the sunflower. He provides us with nourishment. He provides a fertile soil for us to build a holy life upon. By focusing on this, it makes daily turmoil less of a struggle. Every event in life is meant to strengthen us and to empower us to grow. When we acknowledge that there is a lesson in the pain, we can see the meaning within our life. By elaborating upon the simple statement of โ€œthis too shall pass,โ€ one can see the goodness in a dark period within their life. So, this is why I have a complete adoration for sunflowers. They embody positivity, and I hope to follow in their path:

โ€œI don’t think there’s anything on this planet that more trumpets life that the sunflower. For me, that’s because of the reason behind its name. Not because it looks like the sun but because it follows the sun. During the course of the day, the head tracks the journey of the sun across the sky. A satellite dish for sunshine. Wherever light is, no matter how weak, these flowers will find it. And that’s such an admirable thing. And such a lesson in life.โ€
