© Late night arrives, and I realize it is probably a good idea to head to bed. However, I am conflicted as I aspire to get school work completed. I compromise by telling myself reading for school, and a cup of chamomile tea will be a happy medium; following through with this plan allows me to go to bed feeling accomplished. Meanwhile, it is 1:00am, but I still decide that it is best to proceed. I tiptoe into my kitchen and get my mug. I find so much happiness in the prospect of a new inspirational quote attached to the tea bag. This time it stated, “The Difference Between A Flower and a Weed is Judgement.” I was taken back by this, giving myself time to comprehend what exactly that meant…and I finally understood what God was trying to tell me. Many times that day, and recently beforehand, I have been thinking about myself in a growth mindset. The problem is I sometimes mistake that for not where I should in the present moment. Therefore I begin to judge myself. The self-judgment is what alters my feelings of self-worth in a derogatory manner. The bible states, “
“Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. 18 And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. 19 May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.” Ephesians 3:14–21
The depths of God’s love for each and every one of us is insurmountable. His gentle reminders further guide me to realize how much He truly cares. As He reaches for your heart, He longs for you to notice Him. He made you perfect in His image; He will take you above and beyond your expectations, He will water you with words of encouragement through messages in the midst of everyday encounters. The beauty is in the eye of the beholder and Jesus holds your heart, finding ways to remind you of His acknowledgment during your times of insecurity, during the times when you think you should be ahead of the present moment you are in.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. – Ecclesiastes 3:11
There is no need to rush when Jesus guides you to your destiny. So water your heart with His love as you turn to the sunshine and let His guidance provide confirmation as, in accordance with His perfect timing, you blossom into who He created you to be.
Blessings! XOXO
