As 2018 comes to an end, I have been reflecting a lot more than usual. I can attribute this to the craziness of the year. I was overwhelmed much of the time whether it was due to sickness, loss, school, or just life circumstances. I let myself fall victim to a lot of unhealthy habits from severe anxiety to a self-created constant pressure to “accomplish” things. I felt the need to understand everything. I wanted to really comprehend why people did what they did and why these people chose to treat me a certain way. As 2019, approaches, however, I am pleased with the outcomes of this year. While there are definitely some habits I need to work on fixing, there have also been a lot of important elements of self-discovery that have been extremely important to my growth. I am glad to implement changes such as eating healthier, mindfulness, and living with intent. As a whole, I want to genuinely find time to engage in positive habits that will help better myself.
Between now and the end of January, I will be posting weekly reflections/lessons in regards to this past year.
Here’s to a year of rediscovering the parts of myself that I have lost and uncovering new realms of my soul that I have yet to find. 🌟
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives you. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
