Christmas Cheer

T’was the night before Christmas. My mind in a scurry, hurrying to finish up the tedious tasks while remaining sane. I pour some hot cocoa from the stove, add some coconut whip and finish it off with some pumpkin spice. Surrounding me is a tiny Christmas tree, colored pencils, and a blank paper waiting to be filled out. Christmas music plays in the background to accompany my spirit. It’s funny how things change within a year. A different setting, but the same people. The same people, but different circumstances. I search for normalcy in the celebratory component of Christmas, finding happiness in the decorations and the love of those surrounding me. Christmas truly is special. Christmas signifies the birth of Jesus Christ and brings attention to the importance of the things that money can not buy; time spent with loved ones, laughter, experiences, and memories that fill our cups with warmth no matter the materialistic components that accompany us. The truth is the PRESENT moment is the real gift. To embody gratitude and to find space to reflect on the real meaning of Christmas. I encourage you to shine your light for others and, most importantly, to spread Christmas cheer for all to hear! After all, energy is contagious! 😉

Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
