Happy Mindful Monday; this week’s journal prompts focus on Fear and Gratitude Cannot Coexist.

Previously, I discussed “making mental health and wellbeing for all a global priority” in honor of World Mental Health day. I referenced gratitude as one of the seven tips.

This time of year, we hear a lot about gratitude. While I love the emphasis on gratitude. I think it is essential to accept all emotions that may arise during this time of year. During the holiday season, is important to acknowledge that *not so exciting* emotions can coexist. I want to focus on using gratitude as a tool during times of happiness and distress. Throughout this post, I provide simple tips on how to use gratitude when working through overwhelming emotions.

Fear and Gratitude Cannot Coexist

It is easy to find things to be grateful for when everything around us is going well. However, gratitude is just as important when going through a difficult time.

The good news is that you can interrupt anxiety with gratitude.

It is stated that, fear and gratitude cannot coexist. When there is gratitude, there is less room for fear and more room to safely release and express all emotions. Here are some simple ways to interrupt anxiety with gratitude.

Benefits of Gratitude

At one point in my blogging journey, I created a monthly series where I would write something I was grateful for everyday and share some of my favorite moments in a post. My intention was to inspire others to increase their focus on gratitude. Daily gratitude lists hold me accountable. Currently, I write three things that make me grateful every morning. I intentionally create space to feel gratitude. Gratitude has many benefits.
